Jaisalmer

Desert Escapade

A vast and seemingly incessant carpet of golden, silken sands beckons, tempting you to tread upon it, as if to welcome you to explore what lies out there…

Jaisalmer — it’s a city of haunting havelis, majestic “golden” forts and an effervescent and colorful culture. And for the original desert experience, this is the place to be, but if you thought Jaisalmer was only about sand dunes and deserts, think again. A gem that’s less spoken about is the city’s Desert National Park, a haven of exotic fauna and one of the largest national parks in India.  This sanctuary is the only place you can find the Great Indian Bustard and the raptors among the birds. As you ride through this park on your safari, you never know what you’ll see at close quarters! And to conclude the day, there’s nothing better than watching the sunset and enjoying a private dinner on the dunes, as you’re serenaded by local musicians.
