The statue of Gomateshwara Bhagwaan Bahubali is located atop Vindhyagiri mountain. At 57 feet, it is the tallest monolithic statue in the world. There are 650 steps to the top of the platform. This is the place where Chandragupta, the founder of the Mauryan dynasty, became a Jain ascetic after relinquishing his throne. The statue of Gomateshwara is 1,026 years old.

Proceed for a visit to Agra Fort, the seat of Mogul power longest serving rulers before being dethroned by the British. Akbar started building the Fort in sandstone in the 16th century on the west bank of the Jumna River, and later his grandson Shah Jahan, the builder of the Taj Mahal, constructed palaces of white marble within the fort itself. Shah Jahan was imprisoned in Agra Fort following the coup of his son, Aurangzeb, and died here in 1657.
